The popular preventive treatments performed by dentists include fluoride treatments and dental sealants in patients who are at risk of dental issues like gum disease and tooth decay.
- Restorative Treatments- During the same routine dental check-ups, if the patient is diagnosed with lost teeth, discolored or stained tooth, severely decayed/injured tooth, general dentists can fix them by restorative dental treatments like dental crowns, veneers, and bridges.
- Cosmetic Procedures- This includes professional teeth whitening with bleaching agents like hydrogen peroxide or the application of composite bonding (tooth-colored resin materials) for reshaping teeth or improving their color.
- Orthodontics- General dentists can even address the diagnosis, prevention, interception, guidance, and treatment of bite issues or jaw irregularities. They can help with the straightening of the teeth by using dental braces or Invisalign (a clear form of braces).
